Fatty Loh Chicken Rice @ Fettes Park, Penang

Last Sunday, after Cheng Beng at Teluk Bahang, we decided to have our Breakfast or also known as Lunch at Fettes Park Fatty Loh Chicken Rice, a place that we will visit if we go somewhere near to Fettes Park. It has been a long time I did not visit Fatty Loh for Chicken Rice nor Western Food. The whole shop was Refurnished and Renovated.

My father is the best friend of the owner of Fatty Loh. Every time we have our lunch there, the Boss will surely serve us more than we order. I google-ed Fatty Loh Chicken Rice just now. They are a lot of negative review on Fatty Loh Chicken rice in fact. Frankly speaking, I would say the taste of a few years back is better than now.

I remember I started to eat Fatty Loh Chicken Rice when I was a kid and the stall was always flooded with a lot of customers lining up or waiting unpatiently for the chicken rice to be served in front of them. Their former venue is now developed as commercial center called Prima Tanjung.
Anyway, I'm just sharing Fatty Loh Chicken Rice here as they've been awarded as the Malaysia's TOP 10 Hainam Chicken Rice 《馬來西亞Top10海南雞飯王》and Guang Ming King of Hainan Chicken Rice 《光明海南雞飯王》, these 2 honours! The successor managed to expand the Chicken Rice business tremendously to another high! Well Done!
We ate the above: Steamed Chicken (white Chicken :p), Roasted Chicken, Kerabu Chicken, Chicken Legs, Salted Vegetables Soup and etc. Guess how much we pay for all this?
I dont think you will guess it correctly! If you do, i will belanja you makan! haha.... Laksa one bowl! The above are some comments that I found from the site! Overall, I will say they are not bad! I like the chili sauce!

Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice, Batu Lanchang

Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice

Last Saturday, my mum brought me to our Former Residential Area- Batu Lanchang for Lunch. She recommended this Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice 平阳茶餐室鸡饭 to me. I rather call this as kopitian. This Kopitian is located along Jalan Pancur, somewhere nearby my former residential area.

Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice

They are not selling pure Chicken Rice but in fact they are selling Roasted Chicken, Roasted Meat/ Pork, Char Siew, "Lap Qeong" etc. My Mum just love to eat their Char Siew Rice where he found special and the Char Siew is nicely roasted! Is more a less like the Chulia Street one. Tasty and of course delicious la!
Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice
From the picture above, you will know the popularity of this kopitian! All need to Q-up in order to buy their Chicken Rice, Barbecued Pork Rice, Roasted Pork Rice etc...
Restoran Peng Yang Chicken Rice

Where is it? Is under Medan Hikmat Apartment, Jalan Pancur, Batu Lanchang. You may refer to the map below to see where is the Kopitiam! Try this out~

Spring Roll/ 春餅

Right after my swimming outing with my colleagues, we all headed to Batu Ferringhi for our dinner. Our initial plan was to visit Sunset Cafe and take some photos but it was raining so no sunset for us when we reached there. Since we were so "unlucky" with teh sunset, we straight away turn right (as per the map below) to the Beach Corner Seafood, Kompleks Bayu Senja. We ordered about 7 dishes if I'm not mistaken. Most of them were Nyonya Cuisine as they are mainly offering Nyonya Cuisine. Their signature dishes include Inchi Kabin Chicken which we need to book in advance but we didn't, Perut Ikan Curry Fish, Yam Duck or better known as braised duck with yam (Ark Or) etc...

We ordered their signature dishes- YAM DUCK (鸭芋), Spring Roll (春餅), Curry Fish, fried eggs, fried vege, Belacan Fried Chicken ... etc. This "restaurant" was recommended by our Manager. However, we did not find anything special other than thier Signature Dishes. Overall, it is still acceptable. May be we did not have the chance to try the Inchi Kabin Chicken (Nyonya Deep Fried Chicken) which I was told that it is coat marinated with special recipe. We miss this. Everyone was there for this but not for us. Will try this out next time.

BJ Pan Mee at Hou Mei Yuen

Today, we decided to have our lunch at BJ Pan Mee, somewhere near to BJ Complex. We used to visit here more often than the rest of the place as it serves Dim Sum, Rojak and Mua Ci some time. While waiting for the Pan Mee to be served, we can order side dishes like Dim Sum to eat.

The Pan Mee from Hou Mei Yuan Bukit Jambul, however, is different from usual. The noodle is served in both dry and soup. If you order the noodle in dry, the soup will come seperatedly. The noodle too, there are 2 types for you to choose: thick and thin type. For those big eater, I don't think you can be satisfied with the Pan Mee as the serving is small. Noodles+ 2 Fishballs + some minched meat.....

Anyhow, try this out yourself one day based on the map given above! To me, I will order small one (RM 2.50) with dim sum sometime! At least I can eat both at a mininum cost! haha....

Lunch @ Medan Selera Sim Fried Mee Jawa, Jalan Tengah

Lama tak pergi Jalan Tengah makan tengah hari lo!

Finally, they all made up thier mind and "re-visit" Jalan Tengah Medan Selera Sim for Lunch. Seriously, it has been quite some times since our last visit to Jalan Tengah for Lunch. Jalan Tengah Medan Selera Sim used to be our lunch venue but due to the hot weather, we seldom visit there for Lunch.

Usually, there will a few choices for my lunch over there. Economic Rice, Chicken Rice and Fried Mee Jawa! Today, I ate Mee Jawa which most of the people will be ordering while having lunch over there. The gravy flavoured with tomato ketchup is "ngam-ngam-hoe". However, the serivng portion size is smaller than before which I found out today. The price still maintained the same RM 2.50 just the serving size! :P This is my lunch for Monday!

"Dessert" after dinner- Kacang Tumbuk

Wau.... My favourite Kacang Tumbuk, Mum managed to buy the famous Ang Seng Heong Kacang Tumbuk from Batu Lanchang Market yesterday! In Hokkien, we used to call it ask "Kong Th'ng". This is unique as I mentioned before in my blogm it is wrapped and served with Poh Piah Skin. This is something different from others which I personally like to eat only this Kong Th'ng. Tasty? Of course it is. Previously, we can only buy this during The birthday of Nine Emperor God Festival but just a few days back, my mum told me that we can buy in Batu Lanchang Market. Happy neh~ Sad is...I cant eat much due to my braces :P

supper at burmah road green house cafe hokkien mee

Last nite, right after Leo Idol 2009 Final at Komtar Auditorium, we headed to Old Green House for Supper, for Hokkien Mee also known as Prawn Mee. Old Green House is one of the HOT SPOT for supper. Old Green House is actually located along Burmah Road, opposite Him Heang Biscuit (Tanbum Pia).
Basically, what we will eat in Old Green House is only Hokkien Mee which everyone of us will be eating when visitng Green House Kopitiam. I not really remember the price. If I'm not mistaken the price is RM 2.50 to RM 3.00. To me the hokkien mee there is just so-so nia. I prefer the Hokkien Mee that I ate in the morning, the Lip Sin BoBo Cafe's Hokkien Mee. It is still the best to me as compared to this. The soup is oily and does not suit to my appetite. Anyway, it was free because it was paid by Alan Thoo, boss of the night! So I shouln't comment much :P.

Oh yeah~ I got the MAP to Old Green House. I screen shot it and post it here since I'm able to find the MAP.... Simple .....

Padang Yong Tau Fu, Anson Road

Yong Tau Fu, Padang Brown Hawker Center
For dinner, I've eaten Padang Brown Yong Tau Fu @ Padang Brown Hawker Center, Anson Road, opposite the Penang Buddhist Association. This is also one of my favourite for Dinner which I usually will buy back and eat this with my mum. Mum will cook rice and I will Tar Bao this. I like the soup actually. Not oily but tasty. You can try this if you are there. Other than Yong Tau Fu, there are a lot of other hawker food stalls there. For more infor, you can go to this site. Map to the Padang Brown... You can find it easily without the MAP actually!

Taman Lip Sin Bobo Cafe Hokkien Mee

Starting for today onwards, I'm going to blog and sahre what I've eaten for everyday since I already got my new baby- Nokia Express Music 5800 which will make my life even better and FASTER! No matter I go without my DSLR, 5800 will be playing her role to snap the breakfast, lunch, dinner or anything I eat for the day!
(Green Icon- The kopitiam)

This morning, I manged to buy my favourite Hokkien Mee from Taman Lip Sin Bobo Cafe (宝宝餐室) which is located right after the Lip Sim Market, a coffee shop under the flats there. RM 2.50 (small). I particularly love to drink the Hokkien Mee aka Prawn Mee Soup there. It suits my appetite and of course you too! Try this if you have the chance to visit Taman Lip Sin, look for BOBO Cafe! I am sure you will be addicted to it too!

Chirardelli Chocolate Squares

I've abandoned this blog for quite sometime. Sharing this chocolate brought back from US by my Senior Manager today. Chiradelli Chocolate Squares- Dark Chocolate 60% Cacao and Dark Chocolate with Raspberry Filling. I've been eating this kind of chocolate for a number of times. There are more than these 2 flavours such as Caramel, Mint Almond, Milk etc. Our favourite in the office because it is rich in ingredients.... the chocolate will melt in yout mouth once you put it into your mouth.... Sharing this picture taken with my 5800! :P
